Blue Pen’s Flyover Kid’s Educational Sessions on 20.01.2019-Republic Day celebrations

Dear friends, with Republic day round the corner and weather of NCR Delhi getting gradually pleasant, Team Blue Pen educated flyover kids about Republic Day, all over Delhi last weekend.

Mr Shivam, Volunteer-Coordinator (Noida-Okhla-Faridabad) shares, “With cold air and extremely cold wind chill, its important to keep your physical safety in mind. That’s why, we always start with the warmup exercises. Charming smile came on kid’s faces everytime eveytime they see us. No matter how cold it is outside, these smiles will warm your heart. Another Volunteer, Shruti Gupta joined us and helped komal, 4 year old girl in writing the alphabets and taught other kids division and multiplication. On the other hand i continued with the exercises along with the countings and adviced them to do daily. Ritika helped kajal in writing formal and informal letters, also asked her to read the content so as to build up her speaking skills. At Faridabad center, Deepak helped the kids in solving algebric equations. Kids liked him very much as he has a unique way of teaching. We also asked the students to prepare something related to Republic Day, it can be a small play or a speech.”

Ms Kavita Chaudhary,Volunteer (coordibatoe-IIT-Safdarjung line) mentions, “Blue Pen volunteers of IIT LINE celebrated Republic day, in advance, with kids of flyover and slum. At IIT, our second center, we taught English Vocab. Also, we told them about Republic day i.e. why we celebrate it and how it is celebrated. We also told them about our constitution and about Mr B R Ambedkar, Chairman of Constitution Committee. Kids drew beautiful drawings of Indian Flag and we asked them to tell us about our Flag.
Further we moved to our next center Safdarjung Rimmi(10 Yrs) and Riya(12 yrs) sang beautiful patriotic song on occasion of Republic day.
In addition to that Sangam vihar kids participated in drawing, dance and essay writing comptetion. We celebrated Republic day there as well, few kids wrote beautiful essay. Further we told them about our Flag, constitution and our freedom fighters. This is how we celebrated this occasion.”
