Blue Pen opens new centre at Okhla-Phase I on Last Sunday 24th Feb 2019

Dear friends, it is heartening to share that Blue Pen Team has opened another new centre at Okhla Phase I, by Team led by Saurabh, in presence of our Chairman Dr Manorama Khanna. Last Sunday. Team Blue Pen continued sessions focussed mainly at english and Maths.

Ms Kavita, Volunteer-Coordinator (IIT-Munirka-Sangam vihar line) shares,”We started our energetic day from IIT flyover where we taught English as well as how to make sentences. Few kids are doing really well they have started translating sentences. Further we moved to our next center Safdarjung where I taught Tense to kids and Ekansh taught basic maths and alphabates to younger kids. After lunch we moved to our next center Sangam vihar where regular classes were conducted . We also solved their doubts reagrading the exam.”

Mr Saurabh, Volunteer-Coordinator (Munirka-Nizamuddin line) mentions, “With a special focus on underprivileged children in the slums of Delhi, Blue pen, our NGO, aims to bring about change in all aspects that affect their growth, well-being, and potential, particularly their education, and help them overcome challenges—low incomes, lack of shelter, sanitation, health, nutrition, access to quality preschools and good schools.
We started our session again with full enthusiasm. Inspite of having less volunteers due to ongoing exams these days, we always tried to our level best and managed all the session with joy.”

Mr Saurabh further adds, “At munirika flyover, rahul basist taught basic mathematics with the help of prashant meena.At munirika slum Jyoti had taken test of science and math ,akash taught Hindi and English to kids also conducted a small rapid fire. While I taught mathematics to elder kids. Later, we moved to our next center nizamuddin where as per our schedule normal classes has been held with full enthusiasm. Also we conducted special assembly, where we told them about manners and moral stories. After lunch we moved to our last parallel tugulakabad and okhla phase -1, where regular classes were conducted”. There, rahul taught mathematics to younger kids and akash taught science to elder kids . While mata ji taught english grammer. We feel great to announce that we had open a new centre at okhla phase -1″ Congratulations to Saurabh’s team.

Mr Shivam, Volunteer-Coordinator (Noida-Okhla-Faridabad) shares,” We started at Noida around 9:30am, with normal teaching session. Bluepen is taking teaching session at Noida from a very long time therefore the children have got habitual and now we can see an eagerness and curiosity to learn. They all want to study and learn new things. Now Each and every student come to us and ask for work. Our volunteer ‘Deepak’ taught student Tables. I taught elder students to solve LCM.Ritika has helped students to make their division and multiplication strong.”

He further adds, “Then we moved forward for okhla centre. There we have already told elder students to come along with their books so that we can help them in making their basics strong.
There we conducted regular teaching session. At Faridabad centre our volunteer ‘Deepak’ taught Children’s of class 5th about National and international rupees. Volunteer ‘Harshita’ took a small test of class 5-6th students to check their learning about last class. Volunteer Ritika has taught direct and indirect speech to students of class 8th also the rules for direct and indirect speech. Shivam has taught word problems on area to students of class 7th.”

A. WHAT WE DO? :- Our objective is to impart to Kids/Women of Flyover/Slums, following modules:-
* Regular Teaching sessions, with special focus on females (on lines of “Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao Abhiyaan”)
* Teaching Cleanliness & Personal Hygiene (on lines of “Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan”)
* Nutritious Food (on lines of “Swastha Bachpan” Program)
* Skill development (Ex. Cycle/mobile/auto
repair etc) (on lines of “Kushal Bharat Abhiyaan”)
* Regular Medical Checkups (on lines of “Swastha Bachpan” Program)
* Teaching Electronic Gadgets (on lines of “Digital Connect India Program”)

B. OUR SCHEDULE:- Every Sunday, our timetable is:

*930-1030AM : Munirka-I, Munirka-II, & IIT flyover, and Noida (all parallel sessions)

*11-12PM: Safdarjung-I, Safadarjung-II, Nizamuddin Park, Nizamuddin Flyover and Okhla sessions (parallel sessions)

*12:30-1PM: lunch of volunteers at near GK & Okhla

*2-4PM: “Extended” sessions at Prajapati mohalla, Tughlaqabad village & Sangam vihar and Faridabad (all parallel sessions)
