Dear friends, last week was quite active week for Blue Pen warriors as they celebrated Children day on 14th November, in addition to ususal Sunday classes

Mr Sourav Sharma, shares details of happening on children’s day, “On children’s day, we started our sessions first at munirika slum. Manish taught number system LCM to kids while akash helped the kids to write and speak in English. Ravi had taken test of kids by giving certain topics of essays to write to check their vocabulary. Jyoti taught maths and science to kids as their exam were coming and clear their doubts. She took test to check whether their doubts were now clear or not. We all spoke about 14nov i.e. children’s day..”

He adds, “At nizamuddin , first we divided the kids according to their class. Ravi and ankita talked about children’s day and played fun games. They also told them about moral values. On the other hand, jyoti took test of kids to check their vocabulary on both English and hindi. At Okhla phase -1, jyoti and Rahul took test of kids especially in maths. Finally, rapid fire was conducted just to cheer up the kids..”

About last Sunday, Ms Kavita Chaudhary, Volunteer Coordinator (IIT-Safdarjung line informs, “We started our energetic day from IIT flyover. We taught basic things to them and at our another parallel center of IIT. Sryan Sir and our new volunteer Love Joshi taught basic English to them, while I taught women who were eager to learn writing their names. Further we moved to our next center Safdarjung, where I taught kids alphabates with the help of clay, kids enjoyed a lot in this activity, they made apple, Ball, fish elephant with the help of clay.”

Mr Shivam, Volunteer Coordinator (Noida Faridabad line shares, “We started our session by telling them about Dengue and its prevention. This time Manorama Khanna Mam came to noida and it was a wonderful experience being with her, there is so much to learn from her taught as she taught english to all the elder students in all our centres. She told them about nouns, pronouns, verbs and whats the difference between them and how and where to use. Besides this, we focus mainly on small kids so that they don’t make any mistake in recognising the alphabets and numbers.”

A. WHAT WE DO? :- Our objective is to impart to Kids/Women of Flyover/Slums, following modules:-
* Regular Teaching sessions, with special focus on females (on lines of “Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao Abhiyaan”)
* Teaching Cleanliness & Personal Hygiene (on lines of “Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan”)
* Nutritious Food (on lines of “Swastha Bachpan” Program)
* Skill development (Ex. Cycle/mobile/auto
repair etc) (on lines of “Kushal Bharat Abhiyaan”)
* Regular Medical Checkups (on lines of “Swastha Bachpan” Program)
* Teaching Electronic Gadgets (on lines of “Digital Connect India Program”)

B. OUR SCHEDULE:- Every Sunday, our timetable is:

*930-1030AM : Kolkata, Munirka-I, Munirka-II, & IIT flyover, Gurgaon I and Noida (all parallel sessions)

*11-12PM: Safdarjung-I, Safadarjung-II, Gurgaon II, Nizamuddin Park, Nizamuddin Flyover and Okhla sessions (parallel sessions)

*12:30-1PM: lunch of volunteers at near GK & Okhla

*2-4PM: “Extended” sessions at Prajapati mohalla, Tughlaqabad village & Sangam vihar and Faridabad (all parallel sessions)
